The scope of work includes the supply and application of approximately +/- 1,200,000 gallons of calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, or another approved dust control product to various Mountrail County roads. Delivery and application are required at specified locations or directly onto the county roads, as per the application summary. The contractor is responsible for on-site supervision, ensuring proper and uniform application, technical product support, and capability to deliver and apply about 50,000 gallons daily according to county requirements. The contractor must provide an operator and distributor truck equipped with a pressurized spray bar, tachometer, pressure gauges, flow rate gauge, gallon meter, power unit for the pump, and full circulation spray bars adjustable laterally. Accurate documentation of product quantity, application dates, and locations is required. The contractor must also furnish chemical documentation, including the data sheet and safety data sheet for the supplied product. The county may randomly test the product for compliance with specified physical and chemical characteristics. The contractor must complete assigned work areas before moving to new locations. The county will handle roadway preparation and provide application specifics. The contract quantity may be increased or decreased by the county as necessary. Instructions to bidders include: submission of a certified check for $500 in a separate envelope with the bid, use of the required bid form with all prices completed in ink or typewritten, inclusion of a copy of a North Dakota Contractor’s license or certificate of renewal in accordance with state law, and submission of current liability insurance at bid time with an updated certificate naming the county as certificate holder before work is awarded. Consideration will be given to supply, storage, equipment availability, and past experience with the county. Bids are accepted only on official forms available from the county office.
