Renovation of a museum in Dekalb, Illinois. Working plans call for the renovation of a museum.
**As of March 10, 2026, bids were canceled. No definite date for the rebid.** The work consists of the following at the historic Ellwood House Museum at the Ellwood Mansion: Base Bid - West Conservatory: Replace the existing Conservatory roof, west and east walls, and modify exterior walks. Add Alternate 1: Rooftop Balustrades: Replace the existing east porch and northeast corner portico rooftop balustrades. Add Alternate 2: Rooftop Balustrades: Replace the north Dining Room rooftop balustrade. Instructions to bidders: Bids are invited and will be accepted until 2:00pm CST on February 26, 2026, at the Hopkins Park Community Center, 1403 Sycamore Road, DeKalb, IL 60115. Prospective bidders are invited to coordinate a self-guided tour of the project between February 5 and February 18, 2026, during the hours of 9:00 am and 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. A mandatory post-walk through online Zoom conference is scheduled for February 19, 2026, at 2:00 pm CST. The Dekalb Park District reserves the unrestricted right to reject any or all bids received, to waive or not to waive any informality, or to accept the proposal considered to be in the best interest of the Park District. A bid will be approved, provided all necessary requirements have been met, at a regularly scheduled Dekalb Park District Board of Commissioner's meeting.
