The City of Lake Forest is accepting electronic bids for the Griffith-Woodland Storm Sewer Improvements Project. This project consists of utility storm sewer improvements, the removal and replacement of hot mix asphalt driveway pavement, Portland cement concrete sidewalk, B6.12 curb and gutter, and associated work for the resurfacing of Griffith Road. Bidders must submit an electronic bid accompanied by bid security of not less than ten percent of the bid in the form of an electronic bid bond. The successful bidder must furnish a performance bond for 100 percent of the contract price. Bidders must be plan holders of record at the issuing office; bids from non-plan holders may be considered non-responsive. The contractor is required to pay at least the prevailing wage rates for Lake County, Illinois as established by the Illinois Department of Labor. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids or award each schedule individually, to waive informalities or technicalities, and to accept the bid that best serves the interests of the City. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by Engineer as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than ten days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered.
