A consultant’s report prepared for the Wisconsin Center District proposes replacing the Miller High Life Theatre site on Kilbourn Avenue in downtown Milwaukee with a new high-rise convention hotel containing approximately 650 rooms. The report outlines the need for additional hotel capacity to support the district’s convention facilities and identifies the theater site as the recommended location. The proposed redevelopment would position the hotel adjacent to the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena and within the district’s existing event and hospitality infrastructure, reinforcing connectivity to major venues and downtown activity. As of March 12, 2026, this project is still in the early conceptual phase. A design firm has not been selected and construction is not expected to begin for several years.
