New construction, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in Ottawa, Ontario. Design plans call for the addition of a 322,672-square-foot, three-story above grade medical facility; and for the construction of a seven-story above grade, 553-space parking garage.

Phased expansion and renovations to the existing hospital facility to accommodate an additional 90 inpatient beds, double the size of the Emergency Department, and increase parking. Phase One includes: a new parking garage. Phase Two includes: loading dock extension and creation of a separate waste handling area to accommodate increased needs from expansion (1584 sq m). Phase Three includes: James Tower Beach Tower 3-storey expansion for medical/surgical inpatient services to accommodate an additional 90 single-occupancy beds, including 18 new airborne isolation rooms (6449.8 sq m). Phase Four includes: a one-storey expansion to the Emergency Department to double its' size (6164.1 sq m). Phase Five includes: expansion to the Transitional Care Inpatient Tower with space for 72 transitional care beds plus reserved space for an additional 36 beds; space for a future ICU expansion; 3rd floor mechanical level; and a new northern campus entrance. This tower will have a similar theme to the James Beach Tower expansion (15,779 sq m). TIMELINE: Project is in design.
