Union County Water seeks qualified contractors to provide aeration tank cleaning services at the Twelve Mile Creek WRF located at 8299 Kensington Dr, Waxhaw, NC. The contractor shall remove and dispose of all rags, grit, sludge, and debris from one aeration basin. The contractor must furnish all permits, labor, materials, and equipment required for the removal, transport, and disposal of materials. All services must strictly follow all applicable laws. The contractor is required to coordinate scheduling with plant operations staff and provide daily status updates on work performed, planned activities, and any issues encountered. Dewatering performance requirements must be met, including: cake solids greater than 15%, filtrate or centrate solids less than 200 mg/L, ammonia less than 75 mg/L, and total phosphorus less than 15 mg/L. Sampling will be performed by Union County Water staff. The contractor is responsible for supplying and operating a generator for mobile press units and must coordinate to avoid interference with ongoing construction and respect blackout periods for work. The contractor must also adhere to safety protocols, regulatory compliance, maintain adequate equipment, manage spill response, and submit Safety Data Sheets for any chemicals to be used. Work must be performed Monday through Friday, 7am-5pm, with no work allowed during specified blackout periods or on weekends and County-recognized holidays. Approximate area of debris is 240’L x 58’W x 1’H.
