The Consultant who is selected for this project and all Subconsultants the Prime Consultant will be using are scheduled to attend an initial meeting on April 23, 2026, at 11:30 AM at the Region One/District One Office in Schaumburg. Phase III engineering services are required to provide construction engineering for subject improvement. A 7-mile roadway reconstruction and add-lanes project. The scope of work involves the reconstruction and widening of IL 31 to provide two lanes in each direction separated by a barrier median, intersection and drainage improvements, pedestrian and bicyclist accommodations, construction of retaining walls and a bridge, and construction of drainage culverts, traffic signal modernization, and aesthetic landscaping. IL 31 is a significant route. Work zone mobility goals are expected to be met. Traffic will be managed with staged construction. One lane in each direction will be maintained throughout stage construction. Three main construction stages are anticipated to carry out the proposed work.
