Construction of a residential development around a swimming area bordered by a beach that will house up to 2,800 residential units, including approximately 1,000 affordable ones, and businesses. The development may include three distinct zones: the Artisans' Quarter, including a school of fine crafts; the Bassins beach recreational and tourism hub, including a hotel; and an innovation hub. It will also feature three parks and community activity spaces. Scope of work, budget and timelines of the construction program development are being finalized. TIMELINE: The project is very preliminary. The project owner has acquired 8.5 hectares of industrial land in the sector and plans to spend up to $70 million for decontamination work to make the site habitable and the water in the adjacent 5,000 square meter lake swimmable.
