Renovation of an educational facility in Watertown, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Sealed bids are invited for furnishing of the John Trumbull Primary School HVAC IAQ Upgrades. Proposals must be submitted on the forms provided and in a sealed envelope plainly marked with the project name. The Purchasing Agent reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to waive an informality, or to accept any bid deemed in the best interest of the Town of Watertown. The town reserves the right to take into account the residency of bidders and the location of their business within the Town of Watertown in awarding this bid. This contract is subject to state set-aside and contract compliance requirements. Minority/Women's Business Enterprises are encouraged to apply. All bids will be considered valid for a period of sixty (60) days. THIS PROJECT CONSTITUTES PHASE 1 OF A MULTI-PHASE PLAN OF HVAC IAQ UPGRADES AT JOHN TRUMBULL PRIMARY SCHOOL. THIS PHASE 1 PORTION SHALL E CONSIDERED STAND-ALONE AND MUST FULLY FUNCTION ON ITS OWN WITHOUT NEE FOR ANY OTHER WORK THAN LISTED HEREIN Question Deadline 02/19/2026 Every request for such interpretation should be in writing addressed (duplicate copy) to the Town of Watertown, Purchasing Agent, 61 Echo Lake Road, Watertown, Connecticut 06795, and to be given consideration, must be received at least five (5) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of Bids. The Project Description: 1. THIS PROJECT INCLUDES THE PHASE 1 HVAC INDOOR AIR QUALITY (IAQ) UPGRADES FOR THE JOHN TRUMBULL PRIMARY SCHOOL IN WATERTOWN, CT. PHASE 1: C AND D WING CLASSROOMS (Scope Area = 20,200 sf) DEMOLITION: - FOURTEEN (14) EXISTING UNIT VENTILATORS (UV) AND TWO (2) CABINET UNIT HEATERS (CUH) FOR THE C & D WING CLASSROOMS SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THEIR EXISTING LAMINATE CABINETS KEEPING THE EXISTING LAMINATE CABINETS IN-TACT FOR RE-USE. FOR EACH UV, THE EXISTING DRAFT STOPS SHALL BE DISASSEMBLED, CLEANED AND POSITIVELY SEALED/BLANKED OFF FROM FLOW TO THE OLD UV PLENUM. IN ADDITION, AIR HANDLING UNIT AHU-3 WHICH SERVES THE C/D WING LOBBY AND D WING COMMON AREAS (LOCATED IN THE B WING AREA) AND CUH-18 WHICH SERVES THE C WING COMMON AREAS ARE REMOVED. - REMOVE OLD DUCTLESS AIR-CONDITIONING SYSTEM FROM COMPUTER CLASSROOM D202. NEW INSTALLATION: - SIXTEEN (16) NEW 3-TON VARIABLE REFRIGERANT FLOW (VRF) DUCTED FAN COIL UNITS (FCUS) ARE PROPOSED WITH ONE FOR EACH CLASSROOM MOUNTED VERTICALLY IN A CLOSET ADJACENT TO THE REMOVED UV/CUH PLENUM SPACE. - EACH PLENUM WILL BE LINED WITH SHEET METAL AND ACOUSTICAL DUCT LINER AND INCLUDE DUCT CONNECTIONS TO THE EXISTING INTAKE LOUVER WITH A CONTROL DAMPER. -EACH SYSTEM WILL INCLUDE A HOT WATER COIL CONNECTED TO THE EXISTING HOT WATER - TWELVE (12) SUPPLEMENTAL DUCTLESS VRF CEILING CASSETTES FOR THE CLASSROOMS NEEDING ADDITIONAL COOLING BEYOND 3-TONS. - A NEW VRF AHU-3 FOR THE C/D WING LOBBY AND D WIND COMMON AREAS. -A NEW VRF AHU-6 FOR THE C WING COMMON AREAS. - ONE (1) 28-TON OUTDOOR VRF HEAT RECOVERY HEAT PUMP SYSTEM SERVING C WING. - ONE (1) 32-TON OUTDOOR VRF HEAT RECOVERY HEAT PUMP SYSTEM SERVING D WING. - NEW VRF DDC CONTROLS FOR THE FOLLOWING: - CLASSROOM COOLING AND HUMIDITY CONTROL - CLASSROOM HEATING HOT WATER AND/OR HEAT PUMP UTILIZATION DECISION LOGIC - CLASSROOM VENTILATION CONTROL (DEMAND-BASED CONTROL OR DCV) - VENTILATION COLD/MIXED AIR TEMPERING AND FREEZE PROTECTION - BACNET COMMUNICATIONS TO THE VRF SYSTEM FROM THE DDC 2. This is an HVAC IAQ Project and is primarily mechanical in nature. 3. The Authorities Having Jurisdiction for Threshold Projects, Non-Threshold Projects, and/or Connecticut State University System (CSUS) 2020 Projects, as defined by the Connecticut General Statutes, are the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services (DAS) / Construction Services (CS) Office of State Building Inspector (OSBI) and Office of State Fire Marshal (OSFM).
