Site work for a sidewalk / parking lot in Paramount, California. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot.
Sealed bids are invited for median landscape improvements on Rosecrans Avenue and Garfield Avenue in the City of Paramount (City Project No. 9635). Bidders must prepare bids on approved proposal forms, conform to the Instructions to Bidders, and submit them in sealed envelopes clearly marked on the outside. Bids must be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check, or a bidder's bond from an admitted surety insurer, payable to the Agency for at least 10 percent of the bid amount. All prime contractor bidders are required to attend a mandatory pre-bid on-site meeting. All bidders must be licensed in accordance with the Business and Professions Code and possess a State Contractor's License Class "A" (General Engineering) and "C-27" (Landscaping Contractor) at the time of bid submittal. Successful contractors and their subcontractors must have business licenses from the Agency. Registration with the Department of Industrial Relations is required in addition to CSLB licensing. The Agency reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive irregularities, and take bids under advisement for 90 days. Contractors must comply with state labor code wage requirements, affirmative action, apprentice employment, and non-discrimination provisions. False claims by contractors may result in up to five years of debarment under the Paramount Municipal Code. The work to be done consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, tools, labor, and incidentals as required by the Plans, Specifications, and Contract Documents. The general items of work include clearing and grubbing and removal of existing turf grass, planting materials, trees, median concrete paving, irrigation systems, unclassified excavation/construction spoils and roadway debris. Furnishing and installing precast concrete pavers, trees, planting materials, turf (sod), irrigation system and all other items not mentioned but indicated in the Plans and Specifications. Project construction will also include working within the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) property at the location as indicated on the plans. Special permit, fee, flagging, traffic control plans, traffic control implementation, training, insurance requirements and conditions from UPRR are required and will be obtained by the contractor prior to commencing construction work.
