Shimmick Construction Company, Inc. requests quotes from certified SBE, MBE, and WBE subcontractors and suppliers for the City of Tacoma North End Treatment Plant Trickling Filter Upgrade. Scopes of work include, but are not limited to: Electrical, Erosion Control, Fencing, Flatwork, Instrumentation, Insulation, Landscape, Mechanical, Paving, Rebar, Steel Erection, Survey, Tank Construction, Tiebacks, Trucking, Waterproofing, Metal Roof & Siding, HVAC, Plumbing, and various supplies such as Aggregate, Mechanical Equipment, Misc. Metals, Pipe, Precast Utility, Pump, Ready Mix, Trench Shoring, Utility Pipe, Valves & Fittings. Bidders may access plans and specifications via ARC's plan distribution service or by contacting the provided estimator. Shimmick offers assistance for breaking down items, obtaining supplies, bonding, insurance, and estimating. All subcontractors must provide 100% Performance and Payment bonds with an approved surety; Shimmick will pay the bond premium up to 1.5%. Subcontractors are required to comply with AGC Master Labor Agreements and execute the SCCI Long Form Standard Subcontract, incorporating all prime contract terms. Quotes must be submitted in advance of the bid deadline for full evaluation. Assistance with bonding, insurance, or credit can be requested from the designated contact. ENV-04016-08, ENV-04016-07, ES22-0060F This project includes the construction of a new trickling filter structure, expansion of the disinfection contact basin, mechanical and electrical equipment upgrades, and rehabilitation of the solids holding tank. A. General work included in this section: 1. Furnish all labor, materials, and equipment required in accordance with provisions of the Contract. 2. Completely coordinate with work of all other trades. 3. Although such work may not be specifically indicated, furnish and install all miscellaneous items incidental to or necessary. B. The Owner operates and maintains the North End Wastewater Treatment Plant (NETP) that provides wastewater treatment for residential and commercial customers. Plan the Work to allow Owner, Owner's Representatives, Engineer, suppliers, and other contractors to access these facilities and coordinate the Work so as to minimize impact on the operation of the facilities. C. Description of Bid Items 1. Trickling Filter Upgrade - The lump sum Contract price shall be full payment for all equipment procurement, equipment installation, vendor services and supporting demolition, civil/sitework, structural, mechanical, electrical, controls, and ancillary improvements; and including all supervision, labor, equipment, materials and general requirements; completed per these Bid Documents. 2. Trench Safety System - The lump sum Contract price shall be full payment for all labor, tools, equipment, materials, appurtenances, and incidentals required to provide, install, maintain, and remove trench safety systems in project areas where trench excavation will exceed a depth of four feet, per RCW 39.04.180 and 49.17, and 296-155 Part N WAC, and these Bid Documents. 3. Allowance for Unknown Utilities and Obstructions - This force account allowance shall be used to resolve conflicts with unanticipated utilities and objects. The Contractor will only be paid for the time and materials required to perform the work, as authorized by the Owner. No payment will be made for any unused portion of the allowance. 4. Allowance for Over-Excavation - This force account allowance shall be used for overexcavation, as described in Section 31 23 00. The Contractor will only be paid for the time and materials required to perform the work, as authorized by the Owner. No payment will be made for any unused portion of the allowance 5. Solids Holding Tank Bypassing - The unit price shall be full payment for all labor, tools, equipment, materials, appurtenances, and incidentals required to bypass and maintain uninterrupted transport of sludge material to the Central Treatment Plant, as described in Section 01 12 00. This work shall include the removal, loading, hauling, and unloading of sludge material, as well as any necessary temporary facilities and restoration. 6. Allowance for Concrete Repairs - This force account allowance shall be used for concrete repairs, as described in Section 03 01 00 and Drawing S-4000-06. The Contractor will only be paid for the time and materials required to perform the work, as authorized by the Owner. No payment will be made for any unused portion of the allowance. 7. Allowance for Additional Sludge Holding Tank Cover Repairs and Coating - This force account allowance shall be used for work beyond what is shown on Drawing M-4000- 06 for repairs and coating of the sludge holding tank cover. The Contractor will only be paid for the time and materials required to perform the work, as authorized by the Owner. No payment will be made for any unused portion of the allowance.
