Sealed proposals will be received by the State of Alabama Department of Corrections for roof top equipment replacement at Kilby Correctional Facility in Montgomery, Alabama. All bidders are required to attend a mandatory pre-bid meeting at the facility. A cashier's check or bid bond in an amount not less than five percent of the bid, but not more than $10,000, must accompany the proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance as required in the bid documents will be required at contract signing. Drawings and specifications may be examined at the office of Morris Davis Engineering LLC in Montgomery. Bid documents may be obtained from the Engineer with a deposit, refundable for general contract bidders upon return of documents in good condition within ten days of the bid date. Bids must be submitted on forms provided by the Engineer. All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding the limits established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be appropriately licensed and must display the current license number on the outside of the sealed bid envelope. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if deemed in the best interest of the Owner. Clarification will be made only by written Addenda sent to all prospective bidders. Neither the Architect nor the Awarding Authority will be responsible in any manner for verbal answers or instructions regarding intent or meaning of the Bid Documents.
