The contract provides for the construction of: The base contract will be for the construction of approximately 6400 LF of road improvements to SH34, including intersection improvements. In addition, there will be an add alternate for approximately 1350 LF of offsite storm sewer improvements, including a bore under the Union Pacific railroad. There will be no pre-bid meeting. All questions are to be submitted electronically per bidding instructions. Bid security in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid must accompany each bid in the form specified in the Instructions to Bidders. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond and a labor and material payment bond guaranteeing faithful performance and the payment of all bills and obligations arising from the performance of the Contract. No Bid may be withdrawn within a period of forty-five (45) days after the date fixed for opening Bids. The Owner reserves the right to award the contract by sections, to reject any or all Bids, and to waive any informalities and irregularities therein, to disregard all non-conforming, non-responsive, conditional or alternate Bids, to negotiate contract terms with the Successful Bidder, to require statements or evidence of Bidders' qualifications, including financial statements, and to accept the proposal that is, in the opinion of the Owner, in its best interest. Owner also reserves the right to extend the Bidding period by Addendum if it appears in its interest to do so.
