The existing control systems for the District's Well No. 5 will be replaced and modernized to standardize as detailed in the plans and specifications. Each Bid must be submitted on the prescribed forms and accompanied by cash, a cashier's check, certified check, or bid bond executed on the prescribed form payable to the District in an amount not less than 10 percent of the amount bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a payment bond and faithful performance bond each in the full amount of the Contract price, and insurance with certificates and endorsements of insurance, as provided in the Contract Documents. The required bonds must be provided only by a surety insurer who is admitted to do business by and in good standing with the California Department of Insurance. Bidders must comply with the Instructions to Bidders, including attending a mandatory pre-bid conference at the project site. Bidders must possess a Class C-10 contractor's license and be registered and qualified to perform public work with the Department of Industrial Relations. To qualify to bid, bidders must submit copies of valid Certificates of Reported Compliance for the fleet selected to perform such work proposed in the bid. If applicable, subcontractors must submit these certificates as well. Bids equaling or exceeding $1,000,000 must be accompanied by an Iran Contracting Act certification. Bidders must observe requirements and conditions of employment and prevailing wage rates as specified in the Labor Code.
