Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Boston, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

The project consists of the installation of tree protection, construction fence, and erosion control, removing existing concrete slab under the existing wood picnic shelter, minor paving demolition, removal of existing water drinking fountain, installation of a new cement concrete slab at the existing wood picnic shelter, installation of new HMA paving, drinking fountain, benches, and picnic tables, installing hammock posts with helical piles, cedar post and rail fencing, planting trees and shrubs, and seeding and establishing meadow areas. Bidders must be pre-qualified by the Massachusetts Dept. of Transportation (MassDOT) Highway Division in Recreational Facilities. The contract includes requirements for Minority Business Enterprise (6%), Women Business Enterprise (10%), and Veteran-Owned Business Enterprise (3%) participation. Local minority and women workforce utilization goals are 15.3% and 6.9% respectively. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid deposit of 5% of the bid amount, submitted through DCR's E-Bid room. Bids must be complete and responsive; incomplete or unresponsive bids will be rejected. The Department reserves the right to waive informalities or reject any and all bids if it is in the public interest. Questions will be received via email to ginna.johnson@mass.gov until noon of Wednesday March 11, 2026.Answers will be posted by Monday March 16, 2026. Bidders must be pre-qualified by the Massachusetts Dept. of Transportation (MassDOT) Highway Division in Recre- ational Facilities to bid on the above project. An award will not be made to a Contractor who is not pre-qualified by MassDOT prior to the opening of Proposals. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid deposit, in the form of a bid bond, cash, certified check, or a treasurer's or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company, payable to the Department of Conservation and Recreation in the amount of 5% of the bid. Bids are subject to the provisions of M.G.L. Ch. 30, Sect. 39F, G, H and M inclusive. Wages are subject to minimum wage rates as per M.G.L. Ch. 149, sections 26 to 27D inclusive. The Department reserves the right to waive any informalities in or to reject any and all bids if it be in the public interest to do so.
