The work consists of two segments. The first is the demolition and construction of a staircase at the West Roxbury Station and the installation of two catenary poles with foundations at the Fenway Station. The second segment involves general repairs to stations and facilities across the MBTA system on an 'on call' basis. Each prospective bidder must be prequalified in accordance with the Authority’s procedures. Only contractors prequalified will be eligible to bid. Bidders must download and submit a completed Request to Bid Form for approval. Bidders will be required to comply with Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Regulations and the Governor’s Executive Order No. 481, prohibiting the use of undocumented workers on State Contracts. The contract is subject to minimum State wage rates and all other applicable labor laws. Bid deposit of five percent of the bid value is required. The successful bidder must furnish Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment Bond each for the full contract price. The Authority reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, waive informalities, or advertise for new Bids or proceed to do the work otherwise, as deemed in the best interest of the Authority. Pre-qualification requirements: Only prequalified contractors in accordance with the Authority's Procedures Governing Classification and Rating of Prospective Bidders will be eligible to bid. Applications for prequalification must be submitted no less than ten calendar days prior to the bid opening date.
