To be given consideration, questions or comments must be received by addressee at least seven (7) days prior to the date fixed for opening of bids. The proposed work includes the following: Apron, Taxiway, and Taxilane Pavement Reconstruction. Apron, Taxiway, and Taxilane Pavement Reconstruction at Dowagiac Municipal Airport. Bidders must submit evidence of qualification as required by General Contract Provisions 20-02, with possession of MDOT prequalification at the time of bidding being acceptable. If the prime bidder is not prequalified in the designated item classifications "Cb" and "Ea", a prequalified subcontractor must be designated prior to award. There is no Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation goal for this project. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond, certified check, or cashier's check payable to the airport sponsor in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total price. The selected contractor must provide required materials and execute the contract within fifteen (15) calendar days of receiving contract and bond forms. Bidders are responsible for examining the site and all project requirements. The City of Dowagiac may accept or reject any or all bids and will award the contract to the most responsive and responsible bidder in its best interest. Hard copy drawings and specifications are available for a fee, and bidders assume risk for documents obtained from sources other than Prein&Newhof. Attendance at the pre-bid meeting is not mandatory but encouraged. Any requests or questions must be received at least seven days before bid opening. Supplemental instructions will be issued via written addenda, becoming part of the contract and must be acknowledged by the bidder.
