Estimated cost is $900,000 to $1.1 million SCOPE OF PROJECT The project consists of furnishing all material and constructing the following: 2,200 feet of 8-inch water main including fittings, hydrants, and valves 25 lead water service line replacements 400 ft of 12-inch storm sewer and 8 drainage structures Approximately 1,250 ft of road reconstruction Abandonment or removal of existing water main and all necessary appurtenances, restoration, and traffic control Contractor must furnish adequate material, equipment, labor, and supervision to complete the specified work, which also includes testing, inspection, and placing the system in operation. A bid bond, certified check, or cashier's check payable to City of Dowagiac in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total price shall accompany each bid. This surety shall bind the bidder for a period of one hundred twenty (120) days after the receipt of bids. All work shall be substantially completed within 12 weeks of commencement of construction onsite. All construction activity must be completed, fully operational and ready for final payment no later than October 3, 2026. Prein&Newhof Plan Room members who want to purchase the hard copy of the drawings only, may do so for $54.00 dollars. A $15 dollar charge will be added to all mailed drawings and/or specifications. Fees are payable by cash or check only and are not refunded. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities in bidding.
