Site work for a mixed-use development in Edmonton, Alberta. Completed plans call for site work for a 0-square-foot, one-story above grade, 0-story below grade military facility; 0-square-foot, two-story above grade, 0-story below grade military facility; and 0-square-foot, one-story above grade, 0-story below grade laboratory facility.
The prospective subcontract work involves anticipated security measures, Indigenous participation, and requirements for Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB). EllisDon has been engaged to provide design services and constructability oversight for the Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) Program infrastructure at three Canadian sites, supporting training, aircraft storage and maintenance, and accommodation. At Southport Aerospace Centre Inc. (SACI), work includes construction of a three-building campus: a new one-story hangar and maintenance facility for aircraft storage and maintenance with program spaces such as supply storage, warehouse, workshops, vehicle storage, offices, meeting and training rooms, and staff support areas; a new two-story training building containing classrooms, lockers, an auditorium, offices, meeting rooms, and staff support functions; and a new one-story simulator building for simulators and briefing rooms. The scope also covers provision of rooftop mechanical platforms with specifics determined in detailed design, subject to possible changes. Early Works Scope of Work includes: underground utility relocations (water, fire water, storm, sanitary, gas, electrical, communications), water management, temporary fence installation, small and large site trailer compounds with temporary power and haul roads, silt fence installation, tree removals where required, remaining site utilities, site reinstatement, site excavation and backfill for piling activities, rough grading of parking areas with new storm installation, and contaminated soil removals. Bidders are instructed to provide a valid safety certification from a Provincial Safety Authority and details regarding Indigenous participation. Respondents are to complete and submit the General Information and Expression of Interest Form for consideration.
