The Marceline R-V School District is inviting General Contractors to submit sealed bids for an HVAC Replacement project at the Marceline R-V School District, 420 E California Avenue, Marceline, MO 64658. Instructions to Bidders and project details can be obtained by emailing Dr. Zach Bruner, Superintendent, at zbruner@marcelineschools.org. Prior to submitting a bid, bidders are required to visit the site, familiarize themselves with the conditions and actual quantities that are to be installed, and gather all other information necessary to complete the project in its entirety. Interested contractors shall meet with the Director of Maintenance, Jeremy Mast. 1.0 Project Summary: The project consists of the replacement of a VRF system that controls the heating and cooling for eleven classrooms and the Wrestling Room at Walt Disney Elementary. The District is looking to replace this VRF system with eleven separate units for each classroom impacted. As well as pair of high efficiency gas furnaces and standard AC units for the Wrestling Room. The contractor shall provide all the necessary equipment, labor, materials, tools, supplies, components, and disposal to successfully complete the replacement of existing HVAC units within a fixed-price contract. The contractor is responsible for compliance with all building codes; work not in compliance with the codes shall be deemed unacceptable. Care must be taken to avoid damaging the roof where work is being performed. All existing equipment must be disposed of by the contractor in accordance with the law. All work is to be completed in accordance with State of Missouri prevailing wage laws. 2.0 General Description of Project: -HVAC equipment specifications Procure and install new approved quality high-efficiency HVAC system. Proposed/Installed units total weight shall not exceed 5% above the existing VRF system's weight -Controls Install new programmable thermostats and remote room air sensors with a minimum of 2 heat/2 cool stages in place of existing controls. 3.0 Scope of Work -General requirements Within 5 days of Notice to Proceed/PO issued, the contractor shall contact the District to provide details of when work is planned to start. The contractor is responsible to dispose of the construction debris and existing system outside of school grounds unless otherwise discussed. The contractor is responsible to prepare the installation based on locations provided by the District. When pursuing the work, the contractor is to take extra care as not to damage the roof where work is being performed. The cost of any contractor damage to the structure will be calculated by the District and deducted from the payment of the final invoice. If additional materials/supplies are needed, the contractor shall communicate with the District before proceeding with purchasing additional material. Change orders must be approved by the District prior to purchase.
