Demolition and site work for a water / sewer project in Millington, Tennessee. Completed plans call for the demolition of a water / sewer project.
The work consists generally of demolition of two existing potable water storage reservoirs, one with a 500,000 gallon capacity and the other with a 300,000 gallon capacity. Each reservoir is constructed of reinforced concrete roof slab, walls, bottom slab, interior columns, and interior masonry block weir walls. The project includes the removal and disposal of several pumps, motors, electrical control panels, and ancillary piping associated with the reservoirs, backfilling of each demolished reservoir with suitable backfill material, site restoration, and all necessary and appurtenant work required to complete the project as described in the specifications. All bidders must be licensed contractors as required by Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 62, Chapter 6. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Millington, or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and an acceptable surety, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid, must be submitted with each bid. Three copies of the bid response are required (one original and two copies). Bids accepted and read will remain effective for a period of sixty (60) days after the date and time set for the opening of the bid. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids in whole or in part and to accept the lowest bid per location in the best interest of the City.
