Separate sealed bids are requested for Contract No. 6 - Roof Reconstruction at Accompsett Middle School. Complete digital sets of the contract documents are available online for a nonrefundable fee, or as hard copies for a deposit. Bids must be submitted on the standard proposal form, sealed in an opaque envelope marked with the bidder's name and address, contract name and number, and opening date, and addressed to SMITHTOWN CSD. Late bids will not be opened. Each bidder must submit security of no less than 10% of the base and alternate bids, in accordance with the instructions. The School District reserves the right to waive informalities, accept or reject proposals, or advertise for new proposals as deemed in its best interest. Bidders may not withdraw their bids for 45 days after the bid opening. A pre-bid conference and walk through is scheduled, and although not mandatory, attendance is highly recommended for all potential bidders. For hard copies, the bid deposit will be returned if plans and specifications are returned in good condition within 30 days after the bid date, except for the lowest responsible bidder.
