The goal is to restore ceiling integrity and aesthetics with minimal disruption to operations. 2. SCOPE OF WORK The selected Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, and equipment to: A. Surface Preparation & Sheetrock Repair o Demolition: Remove damaged sheetrock to the nearest stud; ensure clean, square cuts for stable patching. o Installation: Install new moisture-resistant or standard sheetrock (matching existing thickness, typically 5/8" for ceilings and 1/2" for walls) using 1-1/4" fine-thread drywall screws. o Taping & Mudding: Apply fiberglass mesh or paper tape to all joints. Apply a minimum of three coats of joint compound, feathering each layer at least 6- 10 inches beyond the repair edge to ensure a flat, invisible transition. o Texturing: Apply "orange peel," "knockdown," or smooth finish to perfectly match the existing adjacent wall texture. B. Dustless Sanding & Containment o HEPA-Sanding: All sanding must be performed using dustless sanding systems connected to certified HEPA vacuums. o Active Mitigation: Maintain a sealed containment zone using 6-mil polyethylene plastic. A Negative Air Machine must be operational during all sanding phases to prevent gypsum particulates from settling on library book collections.C3. Integrated Painting & Final Finish The County reserves the right to reject any and all proposals or re-bid the project.
