The work includes removal and replacement of existing shingled roofs, TPO reroofing at certain buildings, and all associated sheet metal demolition and construction at all of the Main Campus buildings, as well as the Technical Center building. All work is to be let under one prime contract. A cashier’s check or acceptable bidder’s bond payable to the Owner in an amount not less than 5% of the base bid submitted must accompany each bid as a guarantee that, if awarded the contract, the bidder will promptly enter into a contract and execute such bonds as may be required. If a Bid Bond is provided, it must be signed by an authorized agent of the Bonding Company and the agent’s power of attorney must be submitted with the Bid Bond. Copies of drawings, specifications and other proposed contract documents are available for inspection at designated locations and may be obtained for the actual cost of printing, which is not refundable. Electronic PDF copies may be obtained by arrangement. Bidders, sub-bidders, material suppliers, and other interested parties are encouraged to obtain complete sets of Bid Documents. Complete sets should always be used in preparing bids. Neither the Owner nor Architect assumes responsibility for errors in bidding or misinterpretations resulting from the use of incomplete sets. The documents obtained through the Architect are considered the official version and take precedence if any discrepancies occur. The Owner encourages all small, minority, and women owned business enterprises to submit bids for capital improvements and encourages all contractors to give consideration to these groups if subcontracting portions of the work. The Owner reserves the right to waive any formalities in, or to reject any or all bids. No bidder may withdraw their bid within 60 days after the opening thereof.
