CONTRACT #1 - GENERAL CONSTRUCTION & RELATED WORK For the EMS Ready Room Renovation to the KINGS PARK FIRE DISTRICT STATION located at 2 East Main Street, Kings Park, NY 11754. Question Deadline 03/06/2026 Every request for such an interpretation shall be made in writing to the Architect. Any inquiry received three (3) or more business days prior to the date fixed for opening of Bids will be given consideration. All bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bond in the amount of 5% of the bid price. If accepted, bidders must enter into a contract and provide a security bond equal to the contract sum for the faithful and prompt completion of the work. Performance, labor, and material payment bonds for the full contract amount are required. Bids must exclude New York State Sales Tax on materials or supplies. All work must comply with prevailing wage rates and supplements. Bids must be submitted in a separate, sealed envelope clearly marked with the project information. The owner reserves the right to waive informalities, accept or reject any or all bids, award the contract to other than the lowest bidder, or re-advertise if deemed in the best interest of the fire district. No bid may be withdrawn within 45 days after opening. The Project consists of the EMS Ready Room Renovation to the Kings Park Fire District property, together with all related work as described by the Contract Documents for the construction. A. Single Prime Contracts are contracts that represent significant construction activities performed concurrently with and closely coordinated with construction activities performed on the project under one prime contract. B. Single Prime Contracts for this project include: 1 General Construction & Related Work Examination of Premises: Before submitting a Proposal, the Bidder shall carefully examine the Drawings for the entire Work. He shall visit the premises and make a careful examination of all conditions that have a bearing on the proposed work. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is being performed to enable all contractors the opportunity to examine the conditions prior to submission of their bid. Variations: Should the Bidder find, during the examination of the Drawings, or after his visit to the premises, any discrepancies, omission or conflict between them or should be in doubt as to their meaning, he shall, at once, submit the matter to the Architect for interpretation using the RFI Form. The Architect will review the Questions and where the information sought is not clearly shown on the Drawings or specified, will issue an Addendum to all Bidders, and only instructions in writing will be deemed valid. The Architect will not be responsible for any oral instructions. Any Addendum issued before and during the Bidding Period will be included, as is part of the contract Documents. No changes in the Plans shall be permitted unless the same have been submitted to and approved by the Architect in writing
