Renovation of a detention facility in Columbia, Missouri. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.
Boone County is accepting bids for Juvenile Justice Center Renovations. Bids will be accepted until 11:30 a.m. central time on February 19, 2026, at the Boone County Purchasing Office, 5551 S. Tom Bass Road, Columbia, MO 65201, or by electronic submission on the Ion Wave website at bocomobids.ionwave.net. Bids received after this time will not be accepted. Bids will be opened shortly after that time in the Purchasing Conference Room, 5551 S. Tom Bass Road, Columbia, MO. If submitted electronically, a bid bond must be delivered to the Purchasing office within 24 hours. A Pre-Bid Conference is scheduled for February 9, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at the Boone County Juvenile Justice Center, 5665 Roger Wilson Memorial Drive, Columbia, MO 65201. Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend the Pre-Bid Conference. All questions will be received until 3:00 p.m. central time on February 14, 2026. Construction plans and bid specifications may be obtained from American Document Solutions, 1400 Forum Blvd., Suite 7A, Columbia, MO 65203, upon payment of a non-refundable fee of $100.00 by check or money order made payable to American Document Solutions. A planholder's list is available for viewing at https://www.adsplanroom.net/. Vendors may view and download bids, bid tabulations, and bid awards on the Boone County Web Page at https://www.boonemo.gov. The project consists of miscellaneous alterations to the existing facility, which may be generally summarized as follows: 1. The Work generally consists of the construction of two no contact visitation spaces within the existing building and an Alternate bid to construct a third set of spaces. 2. Architectural: Demolition of a section of concrete masonry for a new door and minor sections of Gypsum Board walls and ceiling finishes The interior of the renovation consists primarily of painted gypsum board walls with plywood backer substrate and gypsum board ceilings with plywood backer substrate. Finish flooring consists of carpet tile. 3. Mechanical and Electrical: New ductwork tied into existing ductwork and fed into the new spaces for the HVAC system. Relocation of existing lighting fixtures at the locations indicated on the drawings, and new lighting in new spaces. Specialized systems for Security and Communication will be supplied and installed by the County. This work shall include all plant, labor, material, and equipment as required to furnish and install materials, equipment, and assemblies as shown on drawings and in the specifications. F. Work shall also include all labor, material, and equipment not shown on drawings and not specified, but necessary and reasonably incidental to comply with the intent of the contract to provide first class and complete installations of work. G. Furnish and install all materials, equipment, devices, and accessories not specifically called for by items, but that are necessary to provide the requirements in operation and function that is established by the design and by the items specified, and in order to complete the work.
