The Work generally comprises of: Two (2) Scopes of Work including underground improvements and surface improvements, as follows: Underground Improvements - includes the removal and replacement of the water and sanitary sewer mains and appurtenances along 41 Street between east of 39 Avenue and 37 Avenue. The water main will be upsized from a 250mm diameter main to a 300m diameter main with the sanitary sewer being upsized from a 750mm diameter main to a 1050mm diameter main. The sanitary sewer improvements will be installed adjacent to an active trunk main and as such the Contractor shall be aware of the need to make connections to the existing trunk main system in active sanitary flows. The water and sanitary sewer mains will be installed at depths ranging from 4.0m to 6.0m to invert. Storm sewer upgrades on 41 Street include the supply and installation of one 1200mm catch basin manhole and one 900mm catch basin that is to be tied into the existing East Drainage Channel which is south of 41 Street. Surface Improvements - includes the urbanization of approximately 150m of 41 Street east of 39 Avenue as well as the rehabilitation of the remaining existing rural cross-section along 41 Street to 37 Avenue and along 37 Avenue between 41 Street and 44 Street. The surface improvements will include removal and disposal of the existing asphalt, excavation to the design subgrade elevation, cement stabilization of the existing subgrade, supply and placement of the granular base course, supply and construction of new concrete curb and gutter, and the supply and placement of the asphalt concrete pavement. Upon completion of the surface rehabilitation, the ditches will be furnished with topsoil and seed landscaping.
