Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Emporia, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and road / highway.
Requesting sealed bids from qualified contractors for the construction of the City of Emporia South Main St Area Improvements Project. Street improvements include curb and gutter improvements, existing sidewalk repairs, and three driveways with curb cuts to improve pedestrian access and safety on Clay Street. Storm drainage improvements include regrading the drainage swell along Zion Blvd. to direct storm-water away from low areas prone to ponding. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check in the amount of five percent of the total bid. Performance and payment bonds, each for one hundred percent of the contract price, will be required. The owner reserves the right to waive irregularities and informalities, reject any and all bids, and award the contract as deemed in the best interest of the owner. Bidders must be properly licensed as a contractor in the State of Virginia, with the contractor's license number indicated on the outside of the bid package.
