Demolition and renovation of a residential development in Alma, Michigan. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development.
The Gratiot County Land Bank Authority is soliciting proposals from qualified vendors for asbestos abatement and demolition at 200 Prospect Street, Alma, Gratiot County, Michigan. Demolition is funded through a grant from the state of Michigan using federal dollars, which requires additional documentation. Gas, electric, and water wrecking clearances and open hole photos must be provided. The contractor must submit NESHAP 10-day notices for both abatement and demolition, separately, including for residential properties. Abatement debris must be disposed of at a licensed Type II landfill, while demolition debris must be taken to a licensed Type I or Type II landfill or recycling center as appropriate. Signed landfill receipts/waste manifests for every load removed from the project site must be maintained daily and provided. The contractor must provide appropriate abatement crew licenses and a contractor residential builders license (or Maintenance and Alteration license with house-wrecking classification) for demolition. Subcontractor invoices and lien waivers must be provided, along with any additional information required by the state for grant reimbursement.
