Site work and new construction of a playground / park / athletic field in White House, Tennessee. Completed plans call for the construction of a playground / park / athletic field; and for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
The project involves designing, fabricating, and installing a shade structure for the tennis courts at White House Municipal Park, 420 Highway 76, White House, TN. The structure is to be installed in the large concrete area between the two sets of tennis courts at the back of the park. The purpose is to provide a shaded area for users and spectators, improving comfort and usability. The structure must be durable, aesthetically pleasing, and meet all local, state, and federal codes and standards. Bidders must be appropriately licensed as Contractors in the State of Tennessee, with their name, license number, expiration date, and contracting classification on the sealed bid envelope. The City reserves the right to reject any proposals, waive informalities, and accept the proposal most beneficial to the City. Contractors must ensure non-discrimination in employment and are encouraged to use small and minority-owned businesses for this project. Question Deadline 02/25/2026 at 12:00 PM CT as per Adda 1 Bidders shall submit all inquiries regarding this bid via the City's eProcurement Portal Detailed Specifications A. Design Requirements 1. The shade structure must be designed in a joined hip shade structure approximately 70' long X 35' wide. 2. The design should complement the facility's existing architecture and landscape. 3. All designs must be approved by the City of White House, TN, before fabrication begins. B. Materials 1. The frame of six (6) columns for the shade structure must be with powder coat finish and constructed from galvanized steel or aluminum, treated to resist rust and corrosion. 2. The shade fabric must be made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or equivalent material, with a minimum UV protection rating of 90%. 3. All fasteners, bolts, and other hardware must be stainless steel or other corrosion-resistant materials. C. Standards and Compliance 1. The shade structure must comply with the International Building Code (IBC) and any applicable local building codes for the City of White House, TN. 2. All materials and construction methods must meet or exceed ASTM standards for outdoor structure. 3. The shade fabric must be fire-retardant and comply with NFPA 701 standards. D. Structural Integrity 1. The shade structure must be engineered to withstand wind speeds of up to 90 mph. 2. The structure must be designed to handle a snow load of at least 20 pounds per square foot. Installation 1. The vendor must provide a detailed installation plan that includes unloading, assembly, and full installation of the above. 2. The vendor is responsible for all footer work, including digging holes, rebar/concrete for post holes. 3. A portion of the sidewalk leading to the site may need to be removed and reinstalled once complete. If necessary, the Parks Department will complete this. 4. All work must be performed by qualified personnel and supervised by a project manager. 5. The vendor must ensure that the installation site and adjacent surrounding areas remain clean and safe throughout the project. 6. Any spoils from the project is to be disposed of on-site. 7. Any permits, utility locating, or landscaping of any disturbed areas are to be the responsibility of the owner.
