The project involves sealing and striping asphalt parking lots and replacing damaged sidewalks, curbs, ramps, and detectable warning strips at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center. Work includes removing and replacing concrete ramps and sidewalks in accordance with VA-compliant barrier-free design standards, maintaining continuous operation of parking lots and roadways during business hours, and completing all work within 90 days of Notice to Proceed. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, and supervision required to execute the work, verify existing conditions prior to starting, protect surrounding areas from damage, and maintain safe and clean construction zones. Responsibilities include coordinating third-party subcontractors, managing material storage, limiting disruption to vehicle and pedestrian flow, complying with all applicable codes and regulations, and notifying the COR daily when onsite. All work must comply with VA safety, infection control, interim life safety, and environmental protection requirements, including OSHA certification standards, ICRA controls, dust mitigation, chemical storage approvals, and campus-wide no-smoking policies. The contractor shall provide barricades, fencing, signage, and wayfinding graphics to maintain safe patient and staff access. Requirements include weekly progress meetings, daily work logs, submittal of safety, logistics, ICRA, and traffic control plans within 10 days of Notice to Proceed, and maintenance of secure, organized work areas. After-hours work is required for loud or disruptive activities and for work impacting access or parking. The contractor must protect storm drains and manholes, maintain egress routes, and secure all materials and tools throughout the project. Location: Richard L.
