The scope of work consists, in general, of furnishing all permits, materials, labor, services, tools, plants, supplies, equipment, management, and superintendence necessary. Tasks include, but are not limited to, site demolition, clearing, and grubbing; site layout and staking; temporary construction fencing; rough and finish grading; concrete flatwork, retaining curb, and retaining wall; installation of accessible handrail with barrier rail; coordination for delivery, receiving, unloading, and installation of District-procured picnic table and landscape boulders; new trash receptacle installation and reuse of existing receptacle; improvements and modifications to existing and new irrigation system; utility sleeve installation; tree and root barrier installation; repair of turf disturbed by construction with turf seed; bark mulch installation; and coordination with District staff regarding demolition, relocation, and installation of new irrigation system equipment and piping. A special testing and inspection agency will be contracted for geotechnical and County-required special inspections. Bidders and subcontractors must possess required licenses. Contractors and subcontractors must be currently registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations and pay prevailing wages. For projects over $25,000, payment bonds not less than 100% of the bid amount are required. Contractors must procure and maintain required insurance. The District reserves the right to reject any bids or to waive irregularities or informalities in any bid or bidding procedure. Full compliance with all applicable safety and health standards, and laws concerning Equal Employment Opportunity and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, is required.
