A Job Order Contract (JOC) is a competitively bid, firm-fixed-price, indefinite-quantity contract. It is placed with a contractor for the accomplishment of repair, alteration, modernization, maintenance, rehabilitation, and construction of buildings, structures, or other real property. The contract includes a collection of detailed repair and construction tasks and specifications with established unit prices. Individual projects are priced by selecting the appropriate construction tasks, multiplying them by the correct quantities, and applying the applicable adjustment factor. The contractor shall furnish all management, labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary to perform the work. The intention is to award one JOC contract for a one-year term or until the expenditure of the maximum contract value, whichever occurs first. There is no minimum value for individual work orders. A current and active California B contractor’s license is required at the time of bid submission and throughout the term of the contract.
