The work generally consists of removing the old chiller and replacing it with a new chiller, installing a new buffer tank, and starting up the chiller as a DSA project. Each bid must conform to and be responsive to the contract documents and be submitted on a form furnished by the District. Bids can only be submitted by those A and B Licensed contractors who have been pre-qualified with the District. The successful bidder must comply with all prevailing wage laws applicable to the project. Each bidder and all subcontractors must be Department of Industrial Relations Public Works registered contractors. District will permit the successful bidder to substitute securities for retention monies withheld to ensure performance of the contract, as set forth in the Escrow Agreement for Security Deposits in Lieu of Retention. There are restrictions on substitutions and sole source items, as certain items are designated as District standards or available from one source, and substitutions will not be permitted for those items. Bidding documents may be accessed and downloaded at the District's Online Vendor Portal. Two mandatory pre-bid conferences are scheduled; attendance at one is required for prime bidders. Prospective subcontractors and vendors are encouraged to attend the conference, which includes a project overview and site walk.
