The project site is located at Ogden High School, 732 West Division Street, Ogden, Iowa. The work includes removal of approximately 5,700 SY of concrete pavements; installation of approximately 9,200 SY of new concrete pavement with subgrade preparation, rock subbase, and subdrains in the base bid; with 4,700 SY of additional pavement replacement as alternates. Also included is approximately 700 SY of sidewalk, site grading, pavement markings, seeding, and erosion control. Each bidder must accompany the bid with bid security in a separate envelope, as security that the successful bidder will enter into a contract for the work and will furnish after the award a corporate surety bond or bonds, acceptable to the Owner, for the faithful performance of the contract, in an amount equivalent to one hundred percent of the contract amount. The bidder's security shall be in the amount of 5% of the bid amount and in the form of a cashier's or certified check drawn on a bank in Iowa, or a bid bond with corporate surety satisfactory to the Owner. The bid security will be held until a contract is fully executed and bonds are approved by the Owner. All bidders must provide a statement regarding their residency status. Contractors using materials, supplies, and equipment on the project may purchase these items without sales tax liability, provided they have the required authorization and exemption certificate from the public entity. Do not include sales tax on the bid form. No bid may be withdrawn for 30 days after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids. Bidders must be prepared to submit a performance bond and payment bond conditioned on faithful performance of the contract. Out-of-state bidders must be prepared to submit an Out-of-State Contractor Bond to the Iowa Division of Labor.
