Renovation and addition to an educational facility in Huntsville, Alabama. Completed plans call for the addition of a 5,820-square-foot, one-story above grade educational facility; and for the renovation of a educational facility.
Sealed proposals are invited for the Farley Elementary School Addition and Renovation. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to Madison County Board of Education in an amount not less than five percent of the bid, with a maximum of $10,000, must accompany the proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance will be required at contract signing. Bid documents can be obtained electronically or as physical copies from designated sources. Bids must be submitted on forms provided by the Architect. All bidders exceeding the threshold set by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under Alabama law, with their license number clearly displayed on the bid envelope. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors. A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held for interested bidders, and attending employees should have appropriate qualifications and experience with the type of construction being performed. Nonresident bidders must include a written opinion from a licensed attorney in their state regarding any preferences granted to in-state business entities in public contracts.
