The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is soliciting Letters of Interest from companies or teams interested in providing CM Preconstruction Services for the US50 Shift Passing Lanes project. This project includes roadway widening for twelve passing lanes between Pueblo and the Kansas state line (MP 346 - MP 467). The major features of widening work include embankment, unclassified excavation, resurfacing, guardrail, drainage features, utility coordination/relocation, signage and pavement markings. The US 50 SHIFT Passing Lanes project is located along the US50B High Plains Freight Corridor, which is part of the National Highway Freight Network. The project focuses on providing passing lanes (12) in stretches of two-way headto-head highway conditions within five designated highway segments. The corridor is a Heavy freight route, and construction must accommodate large trucks and oversized loads. This project aims to increase efficiency and reliability and improve overall safety along the corridor. The passing lanes shall be of optimal length and adhere to grant commitments while maximizing safety and minimizing inconvenience to the traveling public.
