The project consists of metal work, containment, blasting, and painting of the existing 200,000-gallon steel finished water storage tank on East Arverne Avenue in the Borough of Ocean Gate, New Jersey. The work includes some clearing, grading, and a new fence. All work on this contract must be completed within 180 consecutive calendar days, and the tank must be returned to service before a specified date, with restrictions on when the tank can be taken out of service. Proposals must adhere to the requirements and forms included with the contract documents, be submitted in sealed envelopes bearing the name and address of the bidder and the project name, and be accompanied by a consent of surety and a bid bond or certified check for not less than ten percent of the amount bid (not to exceed $20,000). A performance bond and payment bond for the full project amount is required. Only properly qualified bidders will be considered, and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including affirmative action and SED utilization goals, is mandatory. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informalities, or abandon the project under certain conditions. The contract is subject to funding and regulatory requirements as specified in the project documents and New Jersey law. No oral interpretation and or clarification of the meaning of the specifications for any goods and services or construction will be made to any bidder. Such request shall be in writing, addressed to the Owner’s representative stipulated in the specification.
