The project is awarded to James D. Morrissey, Inc. in the amount of $1,063,522.50 Sealed bids are requested online for Contract 2025-00914 - 2026 Paving Project. The work includes all labor, equipment, and materials needed to perform the mill and overlay of various roads in Montgomery Township as described in the Drawings and Specifications. The scope encompasses approximately 87,000 square yards of mill and overlay, associated leveling course, base repair, and pavement markings. Along with the bid, a Bid Bond of 10% of the maximum amount bid must be submitted. The awarded bidder must also submit a Performance Bond and Payment Bond each for 100% of the contract amount. The project is subject to the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act, prevailing minimum wage rates, and the Pennsylvania Public Works Employment Verification. All bids will be valid for sixty days after the Bid Opening. The owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, eliminate any item or items, and waive any informality. This work is the furnishing and installation of reflectorized, two-component epoxy resin pavement markings of the color indicated, with glass beads, at the locations indicated. All long line markings and 24" transverse hatch markings are to be the epoxy resin material as specified below. Surface Preparation: For proper adhesion, perform surface preparation of the road surface and provide the pretreatment according to Bulletin 15 or recommended by the manufacturer. Clean the roadway surface where the epoxy pavement markings will be applied. Remove all surface treatment, laitance, curing compound, or any contaminants that would hinder adhesion. Clear any loose dirt and other debris from the application area. Surface preparation is incidental to the application of epoxy pavement markings, except for the removal of pavement markings as specified by Engineer. Identify the location of the final pavement markings by applying spots on the pavement at 40-foot intervals. Engineer will approve the locations. Install epoxy on dry pavement only if the road surface and ambient temperatures are 40 F or higher unless otherwise approved by Engineer and acceptable to the manufacturer No pre-bid conference is scheduled for this project.
