The City is seeking proposals from qualified firms or individuals to provide On-call Mechanical Engineering Services for projects within the City, including military installations. The scope includes, but is not limited to, mechanical engineering calculations, HVAC equipment sizing, selection design and calculations, preparation of plans, specifications and cost estimates, project management, technical support, construction inspection, controls design and related work, plumbing design and drawings, fire sprinkler system designs, building and system commissioning, studies, and other mechanical related projects. The services may involve both full design projects and limited-nature tasks, across locations such as the public right-of-way, parks, wharves, beaches, buildings, grounds, pump stations, tunnels, City systems, and Army systems. Work is ordered as individual work orders under a master agreement, with scope, schedule, and fee agreed for each task. Proposals must be a maximum of 24 individual PDF pages (excluding staff resumes) and must include: a cover letter, firm description, management and team structure, list of subconsultants (if any), a detailed scope of work with methodology and approach for each item, and organization qualifications with relevant experience and major ongoing/planned projects. The proposer is required to develop and present a refined scope of work, outlining all project tasks and any recommended changes or additions.
