The Water Treatment Plant has seven water tanks and three booster stations to be mowed and trimmed every two weeks during high growth periods. During slow growth periods such as drought and early spring/late fall, the contractor will be notified by the WTP Maintenance Supervisor to delay service. Bushes, shrubs, grass, weeds, and vines are to be kept clear of all fence lines throughout the year. Flower beds are to be maintained free of volunteer plants monthly. Trees and bushes are to be kept trimmed off all structures. All concrete curbs and sidewalks must be edged with each cut. The contractor must have been in the regular business of commercial lawn care for at least three years and hold a current North Carolina license to spray herbicide and pesticide. The contractor is required to pick up all trash and small debris that can fit in a thirty-gallon trash bag and notify the point of contact of any large obstructions. Herbicide must be sprayed in April and again three weeks later on all rocked surfaces and between pavement and curbs, as well as around protrusions, with a maximum width of four inches. The contractor must notify the maintenance supervisor by email within 48 hours of completion for each cut to receive payment. Invoices must be submitted within 30 days of service, listing each location and corresponding cut date. The contract covers March 1, 2026, through February 29, 2028, with an option for two one-year extensions if extension prices do not exceed or only slightly exceed the CPI, and if both parties agree. The cutting season is April 1 to October 31 but may be adjusted based on growth conditions.
