The Mahoning Valley Sanitary District is seeking statements of qualifications from professional engineering firms to provide design services, bidding support, and limited-construction phase engineering services for the replacement of Filter Valve Actuators on sixteen filters at the water treatment plant. The selected firm will perform a field review of existing valves, actuators, mounting hardware, conduit, wiring and power supply; verify valve torque requirements, shaft dimensions, and actuator mounting compatibility with the Harold Beck & Sons design representative; and develop design drawings, specifications, and an opinion of construction cost. Statements of qualifications must be limited to ten single-sided pages plus two pages for the Project Approach, and include details regarding the firm's history, education and experience of key technical personnel, technical expertise of staff, experience in similar projects, staff availability, current references, hourly rates, overhead and profit costs, and descriptions of past projects. A two-page project approach is required, confirming the firm has visited the site and addressing the technical approach, understanding of the project, and a plan for ensuring increased quality and reduced costs and delivery time. SOQs that are incomplete or fail to follow instructions will not be considered. Four copies must be submitted to the specified address by the deadline. No payment will be made for preparation costs.
