The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) is purchasing the SSM Health facility located at 2129 S.W. 59th Street in southwest Oklahoma City. The acquisition will allow Griffin Memorial Hospital’s 120 beds to move to a modern, centrally located facility, improving access to care and streamlining operations. Scope: State officials opted to renovate an existing building in Oklahoma City rather than construct a new facility after escalating costs made new development less feasible. The modernized hospital will provide 120 inpatient beds and consolidate services into a single, centrally located facility. The move is designed to improve statewide access to behavioral health care, reduce transport time and costs for law enforcement, and streamline administrative operations. Funding supported by American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) dollars. As of February 16, 2026, the project is moving forward, with construction solicitations expected to be released soon. No formal construction start or completion dates have been announced.
