Mason Conservation District is requesting bids from qualified parties to help restore river, wetland, and floodplain habitat in the Skokomish Valley on the main stem of the Skokomish River in Mason County, Washington. The project will primarily take place on Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife land, with access to some areas crossing private parcels. Work includes, but is not limited to: clearing and grubbing construction routes, excavation of floodplain material for 0.6 miles of side channel creation and improvement, installation of 21 large wood structures in the Skokomish River (10 of which are pile supported), installation of 13 wood habitat structures in the side channels, site isolation and de-watering in the river, decommissioning an existing recreational parking area, construction of a new recreational parking area, demolition and removal of an existing vault toilet, installation of a new prefabricated vault toilet in the new parking area, improvement of an established access route to the river, and other necessary work to complete the project.
