The work consists of the installation of approximately 7,500 linear feet of 6" water line, 4 new fire hydrants, and all associated appurtenances. Two new booster pump stations will be installed to replace two existing stations. Bids will be received for a single prime contract. Products used for construction must meet American Iron and Steel standards. Prospective bidders must implement procedures that ensure disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) firms are given opportunities for meaningful participation if subcontracts are awarded, following the "good faith" strategies outlined in the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) compliance section of the Federal Requirements for SRF Funding. The goal for participation by MBE/WBE firms is MBE: 3.6% and WBE: 2.4%. Bidders must comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Davis-Bacon Act, the Anti-Kickback Act, the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act, and 40 CFR 33.240. Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the instructions to bidders. Bidders must make positive efforts to use small and minority-owned businesses. No bid will be considered unless the bidder is legally qualified under the South Carolina Contractor's Licensing Law to perform the type of work specified. Contractors shall have a proper classification of WL. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids.
