Description

Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in Lexington, Kentucky. Conceptual plans call for the addition of a transportation facility; for the renovation of a transportation facility; for the demolition of a parking garage; warehouse / distribution facility; and for site work for a transportation facility.

Plans call for the demolition of the existing rental ready return parking facility and the existing U.S. Customs & Border Patrol, Delta Cargo, and Tex Sutton Facilities. Plans also call for the construction of an apron expansion, a new concourse with eight gates, and the renovation of decommissioned gate holdrooms. As of February 19, 2026, a program manager has been selected and is awaiting conceptual planning. A design firm is expected to be selected around May of 2026. The project is expected to bid to contractors in the second quarter of 2027. Construction is expected to begin in the fall of 2027 and be completed in in the fall of 2029.
