Demolition, renovation and addition to a multi-residential development in Aurora, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 13,345-square-foot, one-story above grade multi-residential development.
Sealed bids are sought for the Hesed House Family Shelter Expansion Project at 659 S. River St, Aurora, IL. The work includes, but is not limited to, demolition and renovation expansion of the Family Shelter at the specified address. A mandatory site visit is required for all bidders. A bid bond or certified check for 5% of the bid price is required with the bid, and a 100% performance and payment bond will be required from the successful bidder. The successful contractor is responsible for obtaining a permit from the City of Aurora, though permit fees are waived. Proof of liability and workmen's compensation insurance must be provided. The project is federally-assisted; Davis-Bacon requirements and Federal Labor Standards Provisions (HUD-4010) will be enforced. Contractors and subcontractors must be eligible to participate in federally-funded projects. Compliance with Community Development Block Grant program regulations is required. Equal Employment Opportunity Clause, Section 6.1 of the Illinois Department of Human Rights Rules and Regulations, will be a material term of the agreement. Minority-, women-, and disabled person-owned businesses are encouraged to bid. Public Action to Deliver Shelter, Inc. dba Hesed House reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to award to the most responsible bidder based on quality, fitness, and capacity for the work.
