The project is for Washington Middle School Asphalt Replacement & Concrete. Bidders must possess either a BP-01 Asphalt Paving (C-12) license or a BP-02 Concrete (C-8) license, and be registered as a public works contractor with the Department of Industrial Relations. Contract Documents will be available for review and download. All bids must be submitted on the District-provided forms and must comply with all Contract Documents, which include Instructions to Bidders. Bid security of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price is required. There is a mandatory job walk and site visit at Washington Middle School, and failure to attend will render a bid ineligible. The successful bidder must provide a 100% Performance Bond and 100% Payment Bond upon award. The contract may allow the substitution of securities for withheld monies, and the successful bidder must meet or attempt to meet a three percent (3%) DVBE goal. All workers must be paid at least prevailing wages. The project is subject to labor compliance monitoring by the Department of Industrial Relations. The District will award the contract to the lowest responsive responsible bidder based only on the base bid amount. The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids or waive irregularities. No bid may be withdrawn for ninety days after the opening date. Pre-qualification requirements: This project requires mandatory prequalification pursuant to AB 1565 for all general contractors and all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing subcontractors holding licenses in classifications A, B, C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43, and C-46. Prequalification must be completed at www.qualitybidders.com at least ten business days prior to bid opening and be valid for at least five business days prior to that date.
