Job- 22—035 The project consists of general alterations to Franklin Elementary School Buildings B, C, D, E, F, G, H & I, including but not limited to interior demolition of non-bearing walls, fire alarm, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, ceiling finishes, and other elements as needed for installation of all non-bearing walls, fire alarm, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, ceilings, lighting, interior finishes, doors, and hardware. The structural work involves sistering the existing 2x roof joists to handle the load of the added HVAC unit on the roof deck. All bids must be on the form provided and responsive to all pertinent contract documents, including the instructions to bidders. A bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price, issued by an admitted surety insurer, cashier's check, or certified check, is required to accompany the Bid Form and Proposal as a guarantee. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond. The contractor may substitute securities for any monies withheld by the District to ensure contract performance. The successful bidder must certify meeting the Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) goal or document a good faith effort. All workers must be paid at least the prevailing wage rates. The District will award the contract, if at all, to the lowest responsive responsible bidder based on the base bid amount only. The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids or waive any irregularity in bids received. No bidder may withdraw its bid for ninety days after the bid opening. Pre-qualification Requirements: Mandatory prequalification is required pursuant to AB 1565 for all general contractors and all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing subcontractors holding licenses in classifications A, B, C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43, and C-46. Prequalification must be completed using the online system at www.qualitybidders.com. Bidders must submit required prequalification documents at least ten business days prior to the date set for opening bids and must be prequalified at least five business days before that date. Bidders must possess relevant State of California contractor licenses and be registered as a public works contractor with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to the Labor Code. Bids will not be accepted from bidders who have not met these requirements within the specified timeframes..
