Sealed bids will be received for public improvements consisting in general of tree trimming and removal at Fruitvale-Norris Park. The required contractor's license is C-49 Tree and Palm. Bids must be made on the provided Proposal Form and received by the specified date and time or they will be rejected. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bidder's bond in the amount of ten percent of the maximum total bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Faithful Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Bond as set forth in the specifications and general conditions. Compliance with prevailing wage and apprenticeship standards pursuant to applicable California Labor Code sections is mandatory. All public work must be performed in accordance with provided contract documents. No oral explanations or interpretations will be given, but bidders may be directed to relevant contract document provisions upon inquiry. It is mandatory for the contractor and all subcontractors to pay not less than the general prevailing rates of per diem wages to all workers. General Prevailing Wage Rates must conform to those applicable in Kern County as published by the Director of Industrial Relations.
